THE RETREAT - COME VISIT

Some fun facts about "The Retreat":

  • The house resides on a six-acre wooded lot with 120 ft ravine and creek

  • 2,900 sqft, which includes shipping containers along with a stick-frame "atrium" and attached two-car garage

  • There are seven used shipping containers, and this house is the first of its kind (or at least one of the first permitted shipping container homes) in our county.

  • Three bedrooms - one of which is for guests (we definitely aren't having another kid!) and includes an en suite bathroom

  • Three and a half bathrooms

  • The main level has an open floorplan with a 450 sqft attached deck overlooking the trees and steep ravine

  • The second floor includes a loft and 300 sqft upper deck, along with the master suite and en suite bathroom

  • Over insulated exterior shell with rain-screen siding

  • High-efficiency HVAC, plumbing, and lighting systems

  • Large windows for ample daylight and views of the forest

  • Big Ass fans (yes, that is actually what they are called) for whole-house air circulation

Some reasons to visit:

  • The property is close to downtown Bremerton and a 10-minute drive from the Bremerton-Seattle ferry terminal...quick and convenient if you are visiting Seattle too.

  • We are about 45-minutes from the Hood Canal, the gateway to the beautiful Olympic National Park and Forests.

  • We have access to hundreds of beautiful hiking trails for land lovers, and our local area (Kitsap County) has over 370 miles of shoreline to enjoy. Plus, we own a little sailboat...and if we really like you, we'll take you for a nice little wind-powered tour!

  • We'd love to see you. After being crazy busy for the last year on this house, we look forward to some semblance of normal life and seeing people again!

We've officially moved in but still have plenty of projects to wrap up (stupid trim). So subscribe to our blog and get notified next time we finish another big project - namely landscaping! We hope you find this site helpful if you are thinking of alternative building methods for your own home. We are happy to answer any questions or provide recommendations on local businesses to work with, so reach out!
